The Swiss Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati Ohio (SBA) has funds available for undergraduate college/university students of Swiss descent. The awards are for tuition only and are paid per semester. The first semester award is usually handed out personally at the Swiss 1st August celebration.
These guidelines will help the SBA to stay accountable through their records, to publicly honor and recognize these young Swiss descendants and to develop a pattern of active involvement with the Association which will be hopefully carried on into their future lives.
Requirements:
Kentucky: Boone, Kenton, Gallatin, Campbell, Grant and Pendelton
Indiana: Dearborn, Franklin, Switzerland, Ripley, Decantur
Educational plans (major/field of study)
Graduation date expected
Annual tuition costs (tuition only)

Requirements:
- The applicant must be either a Swiss National with permanent US residency permit (visa/green card) or of Swiss descent with documents of proof. Family trees are not accepted since they usually don’t indicate the place of origin (Heimatort) or citizenship.
- The applicant must be a child of parents who are members of the SBA.
- The applicant's legal Guardian(s) must reside permanently in one of the following counties:
Kentucky: Boone, Kenton, Gallatin, Campbell, Grant and Pendelton
Indiana: Dearborn, Franklin, Switzerland, Ripley, Decantur
- Swiss students studying in the US based on a tourist or student visa are not eligible.
- The applicant must attend college on a full-time basis (minimum 12 hours/semester or equivalent) for the entire school year. Registration and schedules as proof are accepted.
- Scholarship request should be in written sentences, not just bullet points. The applicant will make the request for a scholarship award via email which contains the following:
Educational plans (major/field of study)
Graduation date expected
Annual tuition costs (tuition only)

- All scholarship applications will be examined, analyzed and ranked. Incomplete documentation may result in disqualification. The decisions made are final.
- Application deadline: Completed application with the mentioned documentation must be received no later than April 30th of the current year. E.g. for school year 2016/2017 the application must be received by April 30th, 2016. Winners will be notified by May 31st of the current year.
- First year applicants: Send in copy of high school diploma/transcript.
- All applicants: Send in copy of class schedule.
- Students MUST be present to at least ONE official SBA event EACH CALENDAR YEAR.
- Students MUST apply EACH YEAR. Recommend to apply in December (even if you only have partial info by then).
- Students must provide their first semester (FALL) grades and second semester (SPRING) classes to [email protected] in order to qualify for the second semester portion of the scholarship.
